As many are aware, Mark Sanford, Republican governor of South Carolina, had an affair with a lady from Argentina. People everywhere are ripping him to shreds over this issue. I want it known that I will not and do not excuse his actions before anyone continues reading this.
I have 2 words: BILL CLINTON!
Liberals everywhere back when President Clinton was having his affairs excused his actions and said he shouldn't resign. President, the highest leadership position in America, had an affair and liberals everywhere wanted to excuse the actions. While I do not endorse or approve of Mark Sanfords actions, I am tired of hearing liberals sticking their noses in Republican's business saying that he should resign. Why is what he did any different than President Clinton's actions?
The fact is, there is no difference. The only difference is that Republicans are criticizing a leader from our side for his actions instead of just bumping fists and saying "You Player. You scored big team!"
That's the difference, and I'm really tired of hearing about how he had the affair. I'm sorry, but it happened. The best thing to do is to stop publicizing the event and let Gov. Sanford and his family work through this and sort the issues out.

Thanks Jaclyn for sharing this with me!
This car runs on hot air and broken promises. It has three wheels that speed the vehicle through tight left turns. It comes complete with two Teleprompters programmed to help the occupants talk their way out of any violations. The transparent canopy reveals the plastic smiles still on the faces of all the "happy" Democrat owners.

Obama's Not So Little Date Night
So some of you may or may not be aware that President Obama took his wife on a "romantic" date night to NY. While in NY, President Obama and First lady Michelle, attended a Broadway play. Nothing seems wrong with this picture, and no one is saying that the President and the First Lady should not have a "date" night (as he promised her in before the election, "once this is over, I promise to take you to Broadway). He is simply honoring a committment and promise he made, right? It's a good thing to see a man honor his promises.
But what about the promises he made to the country? When will we see him actually make a Plan so that he can start honoring those commitments? Since his inaguaration, He has proposed the closing of Guantanamo Bay, one of the oldest US Naval Bases in history, now holds many suspected terrorists. Keep in mind that No one has ever broken out of Gitmo since the beginning, and yet he wants to take this people out of Gitmo without having a plan as to where to put them. Let's just open the door and let the people who want to destroy us to just come in our "backyards." United State's prisons do not have the security that is needed to hold these people. So what is the Great, "savior" President Obama want to do with this detainess? He has not thought far ahead. here's some advice, figure out at least ONE of your campaign promises! And btw, according to a recent poll on the subject, many Americans oppose this closing. Just FYI.
But back to the topic of the date night:
The problem with the date night does not come from the fact he took his wife out or even traveled to another state. All Presidents have traveled to another state for personal reasons (President Bush to his ranch in Texas, and so on). The criticism and the error in his ways is how he did so. He took 3 private planes (one for him and his wife- i guess that's all the plane could fit, i mean Obama's ego is so big, and two for his staff.) Three Private planes... isn't that what GM CEO's were criticized for doing: taking private planes during an economic crisis? Is this not the company that one the same day as Obama's date night, was forced to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. If Obama wants to take his wife on a date night, fine, but take her on a date that is more economically friendly and that won't force tax payers to pay millions of dollars for your little adventure of pleasure. It's careless and irresponsible spending of funds that we don't have.
As President, Obama is moving this country in the wrong direction. closing one of the most effective deterrents and tools for fighting suspected/alleged terrorism, and then costing tax payers millions of dollars to go on a personal trip that isn't even some how related to business. President Obama seems to be more interested in personal gains that come from the Presidency than actually doing his job. He seems more interested in making "personal appearances" and the publicity of "oooh look at me, I'm the "savior, the great Obama, bow before me in my presence."
Do your job and stop spending our money, if you want to take your wife on a trip like to NY and Broadway, take her on your own Expenses. After all, I'm sure you had money before you were President. Otherwise, I hear Wendy's has a great 99 cent Value menu that makes for a great date! Flowers and a trip to Wendy's is just as romantic (trust me, been there done that as a college kid). You can take your wife on the trip to Broadway AFTER you have honored the some of the commitments that you have made to your country, and AFTER the economy is back to be stable.

Life of a College Republican in a Liberal Field of Study.
I am a sociology major at a Liberal Arts school in Georgia. Sociology, especially at the school at which I attend, is filled with a majority of liberals and their beliefs and opinions. My complaints do not come out of hatred for liberals or their beliefs directly, instead my complaints come forth about the extreme leftist liberals who are teaching the field without considering others viewpoints.
As a conservative in this seemingly leftest field, I have been told that I am in the wrong major based on my beliefs; I have been told that I wont ever be happy at the school in which I chose to attend and I have been told that my views on things (when asked my opinion on sociological issues) are wrong, even when i support them with evidence. Now keep in mind that not all of my teachers have made such comments, indeed some of them have told me that I would go on to do great things in the area of sociology that i wish to work, and have encouraged me in every way that they could. But other teacher and some of my fellow sociology students have done nothing but criticize me for my chosen field of choice because I am the Conservative.
Education is supposed to be expanding one's perspectives and learning different views on issues so that one can understand what they believe to be true. While I am happy to hear other viewpoints on issues, I find it a disappointment that the teachers will not teachers that i mentioned who criticize me for my beliefs and for my chosen field, instead of broadening their perspectives, as well as the other students by hearing another view of things, continue to put criticize that which should be heard.
The day in a life of a College Republican in a Liberal field is never a boring day, instead i find myself facing challenges of trying to get my voice heard on the issues that matter most to me.
